According to a new interview, it looks like Chris Rankin won't be back for HBP but might still possibly appear in DH.

I did actually see that coming. It's not like Percy was in it a lot. One scene. I sure do hope he will be in DH. Though, I wonder how they explain his story.

Oh how I HATE the way the movie makers handel the Percy character!!! first they wipe him off completly from GOF then he's suddenly back in OOTP hanging out with Fudge and not saying a word (really would it kill them to give him one stinking line?!) o.k so people who have read the book will know why is he suddenly hanging out with Fudge and why is he suddenly nasty to Harry but someone who hasn't read the book will have no idea, and that is very very bad. A movie should stand on it's own, you're not supposed to rely on a book to understand what goes on in a movie.
Frankly I don't care anymore about Movie!Percy because of the way he's being handeled, he can be cut off from Hbp and DH for all I care...

I too am disappointed with how they handled Percy in the movies, and for that matter Oliver Wood. In the books they are two of the more interesting secondary characters we meet in the first three books, then more so Percy in the following books. In fact, Percy is perhaps the one of the few secondary characters that JK had bothered to actually flesh out a lot more than she had to thanks to the weasley feud plotline and the MOM from which Percy had become affiliated with. I was so pissed off that they placed Percy in OOTP film after chopping him off in GOF, only to have him being nothing more than background character fodder who no one would notice unless you had watched the Potter films from part one, and lets face it, 1 and 2 are now ancient history in terms of the casual viewers box office memory and so many, in fact neatly ALL the film watchers would be wondering who this Percy guy was to begin with in the first place.

I agree with you my friend. I was hoping in the 3rd movie to see the massive freak outs Oliver has on his team and on Harry. It was another chunk of stress that Harry was dealing with along with him thinking that a mad man was out to kill him. \

Also in the 7th movie they are going to have a hard time doing the whole Fred and Percy thing...*shakes head* Whatevers, they should have just left him out all together.
