at the root of this longing

I've started reading At The Root Of This Longing, by Carol Lee Flinders - the book Kate and Lara have both been urging me to read for awhile. I like it. Every few pages I read something that hits home. My notebook of quotes is quickly filling up. Here are some things to ponder.
