Go to the grocery store. Should be in the baking goods aisle with the flour, sugar and spices). They have those kits here in EVERY Giant Food store, along with a gagillion kinds of icing stuffs. Food colouring, i beleive, may be with the spices if you don;t see them right there.

We don't have Giant down here. We have Vons, a branch of Safeway. I have looked in the baking isles and spices isles, but no food dye and the piping kit they had available there and also in Target and Walmart etc., are the larger cream sugar type tools. I did ask them where I might find thee things. But for some reason the lady looked concerned when I asked more scifically about food dye, as though I was asking for Anthrax. I may look for some sort of party shop or bespoke cakery today, after the carpet cleaner people and the telephone chap have been 'round this morning. xxx

I didn't think they would. I'm pretty sure Giant is PA based. I find it highly odd, though, that any grocery store would be lackign in the baking goods. How do they expect you to cook food? Or in California do people just not bake??

Sorry for the delay in responding, I was dragged off to Seaworld. As much as you find this incredulous, so do I. I suggested this might be the case to more than one shop assisstant and they just aughed and supposed that cooks in San D were too lazy.
