No Little Arms Here

So I have designs to update more often...and they are all dashed. Life will not leave me alone, and it's all terrible. Mr. Minty got a new job with a night time shift, which means I cook two dinners every night and do more housework. He's off today, so I'm trying to get this post finished before it's back to the grind. However, this downtime has ( Read more... )

You post has been an Aaaahhhhh moment for me. Not keen on Eric throwing Pam under the OK bus. T Rex could work for both Felipe or QOK in different ways. Great to see you back........RL can get in the way of an internet life! Have a great Christmas, I also don't cook on Christmas day as it's too hot. We have salads/seafood/BBQ and then go to the beach as Christmas afternoon can get a bit boring with all the relations.
Cheers.

No, me neither. Pam needs autonomy after the death of Miriam. Not to mention it would firmly make sure she can't advance her career for quite a while. T-Rex on the other hand is more versatile.

I should lock them in cages once a week to see if I get more time. And yeah - I don't cook on Christmas either. We have an antipasto platter with cold meat. Screw cooking when it's 40 degrees, and it's a celebration for women too.

Wowee! There you are! It was getting to that point where I was wondering if I should said you a "Hope you're not dead" email.

Congrats to Mr Minty on his new job and I hope he's enjoying it.

Your idea sounds like "a thing like what Ms Harris would do." It really fits with her previous works.

As for T Rex... He struck me as a good image manipulator. His "I'm simple and honest, me" routine just didn't sit with the rest of him (i.e. His successful position, his involvement with high ranking vamps, etc.) he struck me as someone with ambition and the capabilities to get there. I like him for the role of Freyda's 2nd.

I know - I kept thinking about that, but I would remember to do it, and then a child would come talk to me, and then I'd think "I'll do it tomorrow, when I have more time and actually finish that post, they'll like it more." And you see the result.

He's loving it, which is good.

I think it does too - and it would completely blindside most people, and be something that Sookie could get involved in, so we know about it all.

He is a good image manipulator - and like Sookie, I want to get around inside his head and poke around. He's someone who seems to like the high life and "fast women" and that's an aspect of vampire life. Not only that, but he seems to have no concrete ties to the mortal world - no family, nothing to hold him back.

Listening to the Audio books again: Hodd & Kelvin, who tried to harm or capture Sookie and they hurt Detmott. We never got confirmation if they were working for Sandra Pelt or maybe someone else. Victor wasn't dead yet. There are other possibilities on who might have sent them. The easy explanation is they were sent by Sandra. Your thoughts?
As much as I love Sookie, she is not the best narrator. I wish CH would continue the series from someone else' POV

We didn't get any confirmation about who they were working with - and I think it has to be someone who doesn't know very much about Sookie. I'm betting either the FotS or Freyda, because they thought Sookie would be easy to take by a couple of humans.

I think that Sookie is probably the best narrator. Eric wouldn't ever think about the implications of things - he reacts, and he doesn't moralise. Same thing with all the vampires. Shifters would be from shifter's viewpoints, and we'd know nothing about vampires. And from a second person viewpoint, Sookie's actions wouldn't make any sense - she'd constantly have to tell the narrator why she was veering off or ducking her head down in a car to listen to Arlene and Sandra conspiring.

Congrats to Mr Minty and his new job. It'll be a shame if he has to work some night-shifts and may miss the next season of TB;)I'm sure you'll be able to catch him up - that's if you can be bothered to watch it.
With my sketchy knowledge of Latin (and help from Google) I know Rex means king. It's well hidden behind the big 'T' and, unlike you, most people would just swiftly accept it for what it is - a stage-name. He'd be massive PR like you say and good with the media. Pro wrestling is all about the image and the hype and he'd be able to bring that in buckets. So maybe he'd literally be 'Rex' - again in name only.
Plus all that work (or steroids) to get your body into that shape (small arms aside) it must be tempting to him to be able to keep that physique forever. I can see lots of compatibility on both sides.

Thank you - he's there right now. Lol - he's more worried about missing Dexter and Boardwalk Empire. And when he gets home, I'll have something to rant about if he watches True Blood (which looks unlikely).

Ha! I didn't even think about Rex being King. It would be sly of CH to hide it in plain sight like that. But yeah - he's already a popular violent guy - I'm sure he's mastered being popular for smashing chairs over his opponents heads, he can generate good PR for vampires.

I think that's part of the reason why Sookie finds him so fascinating - and as well, he'd be used to fighting, so he'd be as much protection as making your own Sigebert, but with brains to back it up.

I wanna take back what I said about Sookie's POV. I wouldn't want anything different from what's already been written. I am just grieving the end and since CH has finished telling Sookie's tale, I wish she would find a way to continue. Even if it became a new series with Sam as the central character, we could still get our annual fix of this little universe she has created.

They'd get repetitive after a while, like Anita Blake. And we'd have to deal with Sookie's aging and death, so I think it's good to end it where everyone is relatively happy, and no one we really care about is dead. But I do understand that urge to continue the series on into perpetuity. I comfort myself with the next series - which will have a Quinn cameo, so the universe will have to be much the same.
