The End is Nigh

So, I didn't know about this - but apparently a couple of people have been waiting to hear what I have to say about the spoilers we've gotten about Dead Ever After. I am apparently a terrible tease. In truth, I had a bit of a debate with myself about the ethics of looking into further book content. After all - I figure stuff out from the leisure of ( Read more... )

I like your idea about the alterate POVs - my immediate thought had been an Epilogue from Eric years after Sookie's death. Your way sounds less depressing. The other thought I had was that there would be some complex plot affecting Sookie that would be too hard/tedious to explain via her hearing about it and getting her POV, so that fits what you're suggesting. Think the FotS might take out our most problematic monarchs in their schemes? -Rachel

I could be completely wrong though. :D I don't think CH will give us Sookie's death - I don't think she wants to end it on a downer-note. She'll make sure that Sookie is alive and well, and leave it at that. I don't think Sookie's got another 10 years in her thanks to vampire brutality, but that's me. :D

I don't think the FotS will take out Felipe or Freyda - leave too much of an up-in-the-air vibe and a power vacuum. But I do think that any FotS targeting Eric *in particular* will mean that he looks less attractive to Freyda anyway. No point in having your supposed protector bring this shit to your state.

Reading this just makes me sad that the next will be the last book. It sounds like it will be an exciting story. I wondered if maybe the alternate pov's will be a kickoff for her next series ( ... )

Well, that's another spoiler - next series will have a man as central character, and it'll be about a pawn shop. Sounds good to me ( ... )

Perhaps this is just another one of CH's sly digs, but could Kelvin and Hod be an allusion to Calvin and Hobbes the cartoon strip? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes.
She is so clever that way, slipping little bits of things in.

Lol--I've wondered that too. It's my son's favorite comic. He has the entire collection, three massive volumes that he lines up on our window seat and browses through every day. ;)

Possibly - but I don't know that any kind of similarity there leads us to any concrete conclusion.

It would be wonderful to see the people Sookie has helped and championed, rally round her to help her through the final book. (It's depressing to write 'the final book ( ... )

Wouldn't it? And it made me tear up when it happened to Lily - that she had people who cared.

I think that for all the fear she's had - trying to keep her home location secret, they would have found her by now. And of course, Arlene would have spilled all she knows to her buddies. I can see her being spiteful like that.

I think that if the FotS could get their hands on Sookie, then they could actually wipe out the supes. But I don't know that they'd tolerate her without a wish to commit suicide - that seems to be the only reason they wanted anything to do with Godric and Jake. But just taking her out of the equation would weaken vampires a lot - they don't really help each other - they rely on humans to get them out of jams. I think they'd conclude she was a devil spawn lost cause and use coercion, myself.

Karin? anonymous August 27 2012, 08:09:14 UTC
Karin Fock? To consider the most famous historical Karin I could think of.(There was a queen in the 16th century also) But no that would be after Pam? Is Karin not supposed to be an older child? But the name with that spelling suggests 20th century to me ...

Not necessarily. Karin is an old Scandinavian/Germanic name and has been used back to the Viking age. It`s also a Japanese name but I`m not sure how old the name is in Japan.

I doubt very much that there's going to be famous people as vampires all the way through Eric's lineage.

Karin is before Pam - probably about 100 years or so.

Unless Eric learned that from Appius as well, of course ;-)

(but yes, I agree with you. Famous people as vampires is not really Eric`s style)
