Change in the Wind

Firstly, some housekeeping. I feel it's my duty to say that after the book comes out, this journal will be spoilery all to hell. If you regularly read here, know that I am a spoiler junkie - and will talk about it here. If I write a fic, it can take me a while to figure out what is reasonable for Sookie or Eric or Pam to know, and to have ( Read more... )

Lol - you pervert.

And it's clear Mr. Minty is the pornalicious one. He even wrote some BSN in his other one. Damn him and his lack of issues!

Ah - I'll edit the post to include it - I assume everyone is as spoilery as me. I have issues with assuming people know stuff I know. New Queen on the board comes from the synopsis of Dead Reckoning.

Lol - here's your teaser:

This is a thought experiment on what would happen if Sookie was a vampire.

Looks like they've changed the synopsis - no mention of Queens that I can see... but I'm happy to take your word on it, it sounds plausible.

Just love your take on all of this. It makes sense. Now to wait and see...So why do you think Bruno and Corinna were sent to kill Pam and Sookie? To weaken Eric even more? Wouldn't Felipe be pissed about them killing Sookie?

I hope I'm close - although CH is still inscrutable most of the time, which is exciting for me. :D

As to why Bruno and Corinna were sent? Three reasons - to hurt Eric and distract him, to rob him of his telepath (who could be used against Victor as a spy on his day personnel) and to make sure Eric had no one to trust.

And Felipe would never know if they'd succeeded. Just like Sookie, Pam and Eric aren't reporting the killing, Victor wouldn't either. As far as Felipe would know, Sookie would disappear, or be caught in a terrible car wreck one night.

I think there’s a spot for you as Eric’s political advisor. ;) I can't wait to see what happens next.

The way you are describing him here, with his trouble controlling himself, brings to mind the image of a little kid in a candy store.

That stretch cracked me up, but of course put in this context, it’s quite sobering. Damn you for killing my fangirl fantasies. ;) JanineMNM

Political advisor to vamps-it would definitely take someone who could understand the criminal mind. ;) No different from any RL political advisor, I suspect ( ... )

You'd definitely need to understand the criminal mind - but you'd also need to be close to them. That's where my heart would fail me - all that looking at former murder victims? I'd be so skeeved out ( ... )

I'm new to your blog -don't know how I missed it before. Excellent post. I hope it's not rude to say that I disagree with one thing though. You say that, in FDTW that all Bill had to do in the takeover was bring his sword and go to Sookie's. Presumably because, as a lowly investigator and database maintainer, he didn't have any other duties. But he did. And he says so to Sookie. I can't quote from memory, but he says something along the lines of 'we'll get you somewhere safe, and then I'll go help Eric, because he'll need help if he is to survive the night'. And he isn't doing this out of the goodness of his heart, since we also know he wishes Eric would die most nights. He owes Eric his fealty, so he's required to put his life on the line in Eric's defense. It's the price he pays for living in Eric's area ( ... )

You're right - Bill said that he would get Sookie somewhere safe, and then go and help Eric. But the first priority is getting Sookie somewhere safe - not Eric. Eric's first priority was the vampires in his club and Pam.

Bill doesn't do anything for Eric out of the goodness of his heart, because that's really lacking from the vampire world. The idea of others helping you because they want to help you? I doubt any vampire's done that or experienced that in a while. That's part of Sookie's allure - she gives them something they really don't find many places - selflessness.

Oh they change her blurbs all the time, poor thing - and she doesn't get any say over them. She disagreed with the way they advertised DTTW by saying Eric was fundamentally different.

Yep - but you can sign or not sign. :) I know it's a pain in the arse getting an account.
