This chapter is excellent. I really like Jim and Uhura's interaction. She is so totally on to Jim. =) Spock melding with Amanda weirded me out a bit. I'm so used to stories taking a turn for the worse that I'm half expecting Amanda to be some evil doppelganger, even though I know that she's not. The tension still exists.

Sarek's reaction, oh my. This is so heart rending. Beautiful worded. Can't wait for more.

Wow. That moment when Sarek suddenly felt Amanda again was awesome. That settles the question about the truth of Amanda's resurrection. I'm so happy that Spock won't have to keep his distance from his mom (in case the meld still left with any doubts) and Sarek won't have to go far to find her... although I hope you're not going to make us suffer by making them wait to speak to each other. I loved this chapter; you managed to answer 90% of my questions in one shot :-D It seems Kirk and Spock have a misunderstanding about the state of their friendship. Interesting. And Uhura's statement about knowing why Jim brought back Amanda and not his own father wasmost intriguing. And you say you're going to post the whole fic over two days? Hurrah! :-D
