crud, forgot twas poetry night...too tired to compose...do you believe salvation rests on good works, or is your suggestion based solely on ideas of brotherly love?
well, I guess i'm curious why we were told to "do good works". The phrasing seemed to have slightly religious undertones...and I was feelnig silly and trying to be humorous. Sorry.
Oh, no, no religious undertones. I'm just spiffing Garrison Keillor- have you ever listened to the Writer's Almanac? Every morning at 7, he does a little ten-minute program on NPR- this day in history, and some writer who was born that day and a little about their life, and then he reads a poem. Usually a very good poem- so far, two out of the three I've posted I found in a book compiling a bunch of the poems he chose to read on the air. Anyway, at the end of every show, he always says, "That's all, folks. Be well, do good works, keep in touch." I was guessing at least some folks would get the reference.
Ah, I forgot about Tuesdays and poetry, too! But once again I want to post atechnically-Wednesday Tuesday poem. I'm so glad you're doing this. Poetry is one of those things that slips by without me noticing until other people point it out, and then I realize how much I've missed it.
