My brain hates me. My brain just wants to procrastinate. So when I need to work, it wants to think of stories, and when I have time to write stories, it just goes 'lalalala, not going to do it, go and watch TV instead'. Curses.
I occasionally go back home and visit my dad's cat (*points at icon*), but she's really not worth the effort. I've never known a more neurotic creature. She won't let you come near her, and when she finally deigns to come close, she'll run away instantly if you move. Daft animal. What's the use of a cat you can't cuddle? We feed her, and... that's about all you can say for the relationship. *g*
And, phew, glad you're not waiting on me to do that icon, 'cause it had gone completely out of my brain. *g*
a wee parrot! That is the key! Endless amusement and matricidal tendencies! (The icon is not intended to call you a Bitch btw, merely illuminate the thoughts in Esme's head most of the time :D)
But I know what you mean...I too am desperate for a dog, but the realities of living alone and working long hours prevent it
Ah, I like the small animals - hamsters and such more than birds or fishies, but I pretty much enjoy any animal company - but I'm holding out for something I can cuddle. Next year, dammit. Next year.
Similarly, Cara here is not sticking her tongue out at you. She's just the only real life pet icon I have. *g*
It was so strange not to have an animal around in the couple of months before I got Kaylee. I missed having something to come home to. We've always had cats and usually a dog. I pretty much universally love cats, but dogs I have to take dogs on an individual basis. All the dogs we've had have been some of the most annoying creatures on the planet. For instance my parents shitzu snuck past my dad when he went to take the trash out and I had to chase the damn thing around the neighborhood at 11:00 at night in my pajamas. Apparently someone's Yorkie who was wearing a t-shirt was out and started barking at Dotty, so Dotty chased the Yorkie around until she got it cornered and I was able to grab her. I thought for sure she was going to bit that poor dog. She's like a monster. She has a whole big back yard to run around in but all she ever does is sit on the patio, but open the front door and she's out like a bullet running around in the street like a maniac.
Yeah, I need to watch a couple of eps for my sjficathon fic, but all my dvds are packed up
( ... )
Umm. I don't know what to do with this thing now. Where is everyboddy? How do I find people. This feels like being wandering badly dressed and late into a formal dinner party where everyone has all been introduced to each other.
Finding pet friendly housing must be one of the circles of hell. I moved into a smallish apartment with a blue heeler two years ago. It was supposed to be for six months maximum. I thought it would try my patience but it was only six months. After two years of being constantly alerted to the doings of the neighbors above and beside us, I'm counting the minutes until we can move into our new place with no shared walls and a fenced back yard.
I can understand why landlords don't want people to have pets, I guess, but oh, it's so hard for people who love animals, and who're used to having them around.
*checks what a blue heeler is* Oh, yes, that looks like the sort of dog that needs room. Just the sort of dog I'd love to get, if I could just find the right place... *siiiiiigh*

Well, as is my inability to knuckle down to a story unless I'm supposed to be doing something else. Eesh.
What is with that? Do our brains hate us or something?
No swear on the icons! I'm being slow as molasses at getting the thing set up and ready to go anyway. (must write faq. must write faq.) Yay movie!
Kitties are for the win. Doggies even more so. That's the one good thing about living back at home for the moment - kitty!
I hope the rest of today goes quickly and the fannisness lasts when you get home!

Heh, all my essays were like that, too. It works for me sometimes. Not the least stressful way to do it, though...
