Aw, hee. Well, I was with you in spirit, for those early days, if not actively a fan at that point. *g* Maybe B7 warped me into a scifi fan, early on...

I've actually watched a bit of the Robin of Sherwood eps. Not enough to know seasons or remember specific eps. I do have a friend who is a Gisburne fangirl. (That actor is totally in the miniseries North&South, the one in England, not the one about the American Civil War. Lol.)

Can't say I've ever watched B7 or M7 or Sapphire and Steel.

(Oh, and instead of trying to scramble and finish my recap, I may have fic'd instead. Lol) Bad, Annerb. Bad!

Ooh! And aw - now I want to ask you which ones you liked. :) Gisburne makes me laugh, but he just strikes me as such a school bully that I could never fangirl him. The Sheriff, now... *g* Gisburne is in North & South? Not the BBC version, surely?

Blake's 7 is an experience, but not necessarily one I'd want to repeat (watching the entire thing, that is). M7 isn't particularly worthwhile, but Sapphire & Steel is, if you're ever in the mood for bizarre Doctor Who-style... enigmaticness. And bad SFX.

(And hee. I don't mind!)

(Oh why do I not have a useable B7 icon, or any icon at all for M7, S&S, or RoS?)

Huh. Maybe I got the wrong name. The tall dark broody one who kept trying to marry Marion (and eventually, you know). That's the guy who is in the BBC North&South thingy.

...Okay, I have no idea who you mean. *g* Gisburne is blonde, so I guess it's not him...

OH. I've just looked up North & South on IMDb. You mean the lead guy from N&S, right? He was in an entirely different Robin Hood show, playing Gisburne. *g* They need to, like, number them or something. The one I'm talking about was made in 1984 (and was, IMO, a zillion times better).

I can totally see someone being a Gisburne fangirl from that Robin Hood series, though. I loved him in North & South.

We've started Small Child on Blake's 7! I was an adult before I saw it; it didn't broadcast much in this country, and I saw it on videotapes that were copies of (copies of?) tapes made off the air from one of the few PBS stations that would show it. (I heard that most PBS stations wouldn't show it because Blake was accused of child molesting, even though it was obviously a trumped-up charge!)

I seriously need to make myself a different B7 icon. This one always comes across as incredibly rude, when what I mean by it is just "Blake's 7 yay!!!".

And, hee, I can vouch for being started young on it. *g* I think I heard that about the not showing it. *shakes head at the stupidity*

Oh, golly, I hadn't thought about your icon that way: in a B7 context, of course, I hear Avon's smug superiority and don't think twice about it. Someone not knowing the show, or even outside the context, wouldn't know. (Indeed, I can't think when Avon said it, and I tried to Google the quotation, with no luck.)

I changed it slightly to be more iconable. It's actually this:

Vila: I'm entitled to my opinion.
Avon: It is your assumption that we are entitled to it as well that is irritating.

Oh, Avon, I bet you sit up at night thinking up these zingers. *g*

Blake's 7!!!!!!! I've seen all 52 episodes too many times to count.

Blake's 7 is what got me into fandom many years ago... I guess if it comes right down to it, B7 is responsible for me meeting and marrying Mr Mac.

One friend described Farscape once as "Have the most screwed up crew dynamics since Blake's 7." I had to agree with him.

"The rest are all too fucked-up for relationships." Yep that describes the B7 bunch exactly!

Heh. Oh, I loved the days when I was crazy fannish about B7. I used to read endless debates about the characters and their relationships and motivations and history, etc, etc, in a fanzine I subscribed to, and compose long replies that I never posted. I wish I'd had the nerve to go to one of the gatherings, back then, because they sounded like fun. B7 is infinitely fun to chew over and analyse.

(Oh, yes, it's 52, isn't it, not 58. The same as a deck of cards. :))
