Verbal pottering

Random possibly-but-also-possibly-not-a-Stargate-reference moment of the day: Just watching reruns of My Name Is Earl. Beau Bridges, as daddy Earl, remarked, "You know, I ran into John Sheppard today. He said Earl came in to pay for a window he broke fifteen years ago." I just checked on IMDb, and the episode ('Cost Dad The Election') aired a few ( Read more... )

Am only commenting on the first part, because it's to good to miss and, well I'm tired:
I love it when there are references in tv shows like that, makes it that more totally awsome to not only watch a show but also wanting to follow that show. I love My Name is Earl and when I the other day saw the re-runs of that episode, I almost choked on my soda. it was just to funny, in a subtle kinda way. Love that.
Well, am off to bed. Be good!

Oh, never feel obliged to comment on all the disjointed ramblings of my brain. *g*

Hee! I'm glad I'm not the only one who spotted that. It was very subtle. Pretty much any other name would've been too obvious, thinking about it.

I have almost fallen for the Prior@Daniel one ... I wish they would do an AscendedSweater!Daniel though.

Those cloth action figures look nothing like the boys at all. Daniel is just flipping ugly.

I don't so much want a Daniel Prior one, myself, but that's because I find the Prior getup a little peculiar. It looks like they're caked in make-up. Which of course they are, but... eh, I just don't like it. :) Ascended Daniel would be cute, though - like you say, in the sweater (rather than the green shirt of hideousness! *g*). Ah, I do want all of the little action figures - but I must resist. Must. Resist...

not getting the reference part.... Then again, I've never seen My Name Is Earl lol. Might have something to do with it?

Aww ^_^

Do I even wanna know?

Action figures?

Heh - well, Beau Bridges (Landry in Stargate / other character in My Name Is Earl) mentioned John Sheppard (i.e. character from Stargate Atlantis). It's a fairly ordinary name, so it might be sheer coincindence... I'm inclined to think it was on purpose, though. :)

Action figures, yes! The little Stargate dolls - I'm trying to resist buying more of them, so I can dress them up funny and post photos on here... Anyhow, there's some larger versions, but they're a) ugly, and b) only available as Jack, Daniel, and Cam. Eh.

:)

lol

Ah yes, now I remember them! Didn't you do some story line thingy with them in pictures or something? Or was that someone else?

Well, I have been known to do that, as have several people, but the queen of "Action Figure Theatre" is rihansu: http://rihansu.livejournal.com/tag/action+figure+theater

The 12 inch figures are incredibly BAD. I consider myself lucky that my guy forgot to order mine.

Ah - I'm definitely going to avoid, then. Well, that's good for my bank balance, anyhow.

At first I did not want to buy them, either. The faces really are not as good as the little ones. But then I saw what a friend did with them, and now I am happy with mine. Because the many articulations and the cloth uniform make up for it.

You can put them into very realistically positions, and you can put all kind of cloths on them. I put Jack into a diving suit, was fun ;) Plus he has nice abs... ahem.

Anyway, the pictures really don't do them justice. Just my two cent.
