{RL WITH THE JOKER}

Azula had never been to Gotham. Strictly speaking, it had never been high on her list of places to visit-- she had never been made aware of any interesting people or places in the city (or on that world at all, really), and so during her time on the community it had mostly flown under her radar ( Read more... )

The Joker was practically going out of his skin with excitement, like a dog seeing a new car pulling into a driveway and knowing that whatever was coming would be new and exciting. He'd set up an outpost of sorts in an old, abandoned meat processing plant in the Narrows, one that he was really surprised hadn't been raided by the police yet. Not that it mattered, not with the Batman gone; their leads to him were up in smoke and it would only be a matter of time before he got under their skin like they did his.

But at the moment, he wasn't thinking about GCPD or the Batman (well, not consciously at least, but the Batman was always on his mind); he was just thinking about a new playmate, a new nut to crack or maybe just a little cheap amusement before he sent her skipping off back to the doctor's office, maybe a little worse for wear, maybe not. He didn't care; he didn't even know why he bothered Azula so much for a visit, but hey. He was the Joker - if he knew why he was doing something, he would never admit it.

After having been dropped off by the worldhopper, Azula really had nothing to do but wait. She wasn't in the mood to go wandering around looking for the Joker, if a game of hide-and-seek was what he had in mind-- he was the one who had wanted to speak with her, and so he was going to have to come find her at the entrance to the plant, where she had been dropped off.

Eyes narrowed, she glanced around the run-down, abandoned area (what sort of place was this, anyway?), quickly eliminating the possibility of sitting down or leaning against the dirty-looking wall.

If he didn't show up in five minutes, maybe she would just leave.

He could see her from upstairs, a dingy little window that was all but boarded up. She looked so impatient and he giggled to himself, loudly, taking the stairs three at a time and leaping over the banister when he got sick of that. He threw open the doors in as grand a gesture as he could muster, grinning wide and barely containing his giggle.

"Look at that. You actually came."

His sudden movements startled her slightly, but she didn't let it show, and she resolved to not let her guard down even for an instant during this little "visit". After all, this man was insane (or was he?), and while she was confident that she could defeat him easily if need be, there was no reason to take any chances.

"So I did. I said I would, didn't I?"
