It's all Father's fault. Being Fire Lord was just like I had always imagined it would be, but then he had to ruin everything. Now? It's all WRONG.

But I'm not insane. I'm not breaking.

... I'm homesick. No matter where I go, I'm always homesick.

That's not even the right word. Pathetic.

Mireille says it's time for an argument! reliablekiller August 21 2009, 17:11:24 UTC
What is the difference between then and now?

He's a traitor.

And that's it? That's causing the entirety of your rule over a country to be...wrong...somehow?

I would think power would be something of it's own reward.

Me ruling isn't wrong. I want to rule; I'm MEANT to rule. He still ruined everything.

It's none of your business.

No, I suppose not, but that's never stopped me before.

If he's a traitor, remove him and be done with it.

He's also a former Fire Lord. I'm not going to execute a former ruler unless it's absolutely necessary.

But you said he is a traitor. That is generally an incurable problem.

Besides, there are alternatives to execution. Sent and imprisoned at the farthest reaches of the world. Or simply banished to the farthest reaches of the world with no resources and left to fend for himself.

Or even on a different planet, considering this place.

He's imprisoned. Don't tell me how to do my job. I will follow protocol here.

You're the fire lord, you make protocol. And it's obvious from your comments that his remaining...in your capital, I assume...? Is hardly making for smooth governmental transitions.

I also follow the laws that were previously established. They make sense; I'm not going to change them.

Any issues that exist wouldn't be alleviated by sending him away. If anything, things would get worse.

Ah. The people would rebel against you moreso?

If they don't know where he is, yes. They might think I secretly killed him and was too cowardly to make it public.

I have more supporters than him, anyway.

Sounds complicated.

And a public execution would simply cause them to go into open rebellion, I imagine. War in the streets and all that. Hmm...

What an unpleasant position you are in. If you act, you make things worse, but if you don't act, everything feels wrong.

I'm not keeping him alive because I'm afraid of backlash Considering his status, an execution at this point would be rash and unwarranted.
