By Land or Sea, (1/?)
Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Sakura, Ino, Shikamaru, and (eventually) a lot of Kakashi.
Pairings: Kakashi/Sakura, Shikamaru/Temari (FOR LIFE)

Fic based on: By Land or Sea, a fanmix by oroburos69, which not only had some wonderfully evocative cover art but also a great list of songs. I am very glad to have claimed it. :)

Lengthy note: ( About the pairing )

fic, naruto

In response to your note. I hate relationships wherein one person is old enough to be the other's parent (though just barely applicable in this case). I hate any sort of student-teacher relationship turns to something else thing. They make my skin crawl, especially since they come up way too often on the news here - "Aw, he's known her since he was her junior high school music teacher and they married (when she was) young." *twitch*

But I love Kakashi/Sakura. I give up, brain, you're weird.

Now I'm going to go read this.

::bounces:: Can't wait for more!

I enjoy this kind of thing - Kishimoto gives so much world to play in (like the bingo books), but doesn't have the space in the manga to go into it, so I love these sort of stories, the sort of 'daily life, running about killing people' ones.

To her, ANBU did not have one ounce more ninja mystique than she herself did.

I'm with Ino here. ANBU shmanbu.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's interesting to hear about it!

'daily life, running about killing people'

Hahaha, gruesome but true. I'm glad you liked it. I personally love ninja paperwork and bureacracy and other random world-building. It is the secret behind my love for Iruka. (Also, I am totally a sucker for ANBU. I need some Ino's around to tone down the glamour..)

I do love the paperwork myself. Are the character guides with the stats out in the US or do you have your hands on the Japanese versions? I always envisioned them getting assessed for those stats in house, but the thought that they're really for a bingo book, me likey.

re: ANBU

Once upon a time, I thought they were cool. Now I'm not sure I understand them well enough to write about them (plus I hate being majorly jossed), so they just frustrate me. Also, Sai drove me up the wall.
