Quick show of hands, who's read naominovik's Temeraire series (His Majesty's Dragon, Throne of Jade, Black Powder War(If you haven't, I do highly recommend these books. It's like... Master and Commander or Horatio Hornblower, but with dragons. And the author has a knack for treating potentially absurd premises with easy-to-swallow realism. Also, Jane Roland

I'm all but finished with Black Powder War, and I've really enjoyed the series a lot. And yes, Jane is totally hot. Hopefully we'll see more of her in later books.
