One more week left in the quarter. Damn. Where did it go? Didn't fall quarter just start?

Things I have to do in the next week:

  • Finish journal entries for Pedro Paramo
  • Write journal entries for Collected Stories
  • Finish reading One Hundred Years of Solitude
  • Present on a chapter from One Hundred Years of Solitude
  • Write journal entries for One ( Read more... )

unordered lists, school, stress, daily

There's a lot there... for anyone else it would be daunting... but you are eyebrow-pierced Penny, you can do ANYTHING! :)

Would you and Eric be up for a trip to Dayton? We're thinking of having a party soon, and Carlette just bought a new DDR game and AI: karaoke revolution and another mic ^_^

how do you like One Hundred Years of Solitude?

(I'm trying to help you get a journal entry out of it ;) )

Overall it's pretty good, but I think I would have liked it better if I was reading it on my own, and not for a class. The stress of having to get it finished in a certain time frame has diminished my enjoyment of it somewhat.

You'd probably like Juan Rulfo, who we read in this class! Garcia Marquez lists him as a HUGE influence, and at one time had his book Pedro Paramo completely memorized. We read that one and The Burning Plain, which is a collection of short stories.

We also read a collection of stories by Francisco Coalane, which were mostly good, but not at all magical realism. So if you're looking for that genre, I wouldn't try him. ^_^

This would be the last week of classes, with finals starting a week from tomorrow, right? I should probably be keeping track of stuff like that, since I tend to use the Dunbar library for projects. I remember St. Patrick's Day falling during finals the last several years.

Finals officially start the 13th; there are still classes held on the 12th.

I didn't think we should drive cross country to go to a Porn Party with strangers.
