Hectic day, just got here, I'll print out, read in bed and comment tomorrow...

ETA: Here I am. Awed.
It was a delicate matter, winding the story down from there and have it feel real: you did it.
The shift to peace from combat mode (and a combat fough in the worst possible conditions) needed a rite of sorts, the call to something ...sacred for help to bear what you rightly call the "violent bliss" of "coming back to life".
The uniqueness of their love is that something. It is so bright and hot that it burns through all the way to Sherlock and makes him *want* something again.
Lucky bastards both.
Thank you

Oh yes, that is what's happening, isn't it. I hadn't thought of it as such, but it is the nature of his connection with John that gets him interested again.

Originally I had a kink scene in here that was too intense, which meant I was stuck for how to end it. Chloe made me move out of the fic (to Always London) and put something calmer in. That created the coming down trajectory.

My motivation to read the other version has been steadily on the increase since we talked about it. On principle, I think I should wait and read it after London, but I'm not sure I'll be so disciplined. (I am also curious about the dog).
