Beer ?

Question for my beer drinking friends. I want to have a friend pick up some beer at a microbrewery for another friend. How long will it last in my fridge? I will be several months between seeing the two. If it will go bad...I don't want to do it... Since I don't drink it, I don't have a clue..

If it's bottled it will last just fine.. if it's in a 'growler' where they fill the container and cap it to be taken home.. it won't make it.
It's kind of like storing a case of pepsi versus an OPEN two liter bottle. It's all about the seal :)

LOL! Not where I expected the answer to come from. I have some friends here in Austin who are major beer geeks..I expected one of them to pipe up. I never knew you were into beer...how cool! This is actual bottled stuff. Thanks!

From a microbrewery, it depends. Micro-brewed beer typically isn't sterilized, so it will start to degrade at some point. It is possible that it will be past it's prime in a few months, but it certainly wouldn't be bad. Generally, the lighter the beer, the shorter the shelf life.
