Liked it the first time I read it, liked it this time too. You've done such a great job on the back story for Sherlock and Mrs. H. that it's virtually my head canon now. There's genuine affection between them, and it fits so perfectly with the show. :D

I'm glad you liked it. I may write a sequel, from Sherlock's perspective. I'm not sure yet.

I really love the depth you brought to Mrs Hudson. This is marvellous!

I seem to have a knack for humanising minor characters. Don't know why.

This -- this is a true beauty. I would pick out all the things I love the best, but I love it all. The best portrait of Mrs. Hudson -- and her relationship with Sherlock -- I could ever imagine. Thank you for sharing this!

Your comment made me all warm and tingly inside. I think I write purely for the sake of that feeling.

Oh, this. This is what I try to achieve when I write. This is perfection. There really aren't enough stories about Dear Mrs. Hudson, and you captured the emotion and love between her and Sherlock wonderfully. Spot on dear, beautiful as always!

Oh, it's hardly perfection. I'm never satisfied with my writing. But I enjoyed writing it. There's something so young and vulnerable about BC's Sherlock when he's interacting with Mrs Hudson. I wanted to show the kind of trusting, unthinking intimacy of this sort of relationship. I have this lovely image in my head of Mrs Hudson sitting on the sofa with Sherlock lying down beside her with his head in her lap, and they're watching Casablanca together while she cards her fingers through his hair. And it's so maternal and warm and comfortable, I had to figure out how they got there.

Then I wrote this.
