OK, this was probably really bad of me, but at the same time you started your Tarot project, another friend on my flist got all excited about her new Tarot deck (different from yours). Recently she requested prompts that she could 'answer' (in original fic) from her Tarot. So I, er, suggested *cough*The World*cough*. Just to see what she might do with it.
Well, among other things she drew a couple other random cards and I think that helped narrow things down (I can't do anything when given complete freedom - I work much better the more structured the situation), so that's a tip if you get stuck in the future.
I really loved what she came up with - very short, and opens up a world Universe of possibilities :-) If you're interested, here it is: http://rowyn.livejournal.com/407325.html
And it's not bad of you at all! I want people writing along with this thing. I plan on jumping back in as soon as I've got a reliable laptop again.
And, to be fair, the World isn't hard to write. It's got endless possibility, which is exactly the problem. I couldn't find just one and narrow it down in a single week. It was like a kaleidoscope of potential story ideas pinging about inside my head. Enough to drive a girl mad. I couldn't find one that would stay still long enough to develop into a narrative. Here's a woman who can change her shape at will, here's an enchanted ox who grants wishes to the pure of heart, here's a man seeking enlightenment through various trials, here's a world devoid of oceans but still with the memory of fish....how do you pick?!
