FList! Go!

So my sister wants to start making YouTube videos, and I'd like to supplement my blog here and on Tumblr with some video bits, but my old, crappy camera is rather...dead. And also crappy.

But I've no idea where to start camera/microphone shopping. Anybody got any ideas?

flist to the rescue!, personal stuff, life outside of writing, random shit, how do you tech?, pi speaks

My recommendation would vary pretty widely based on what exactly you and your sister will be using it for (do you want zooming capability, 720hd) and whether you want a camera capable of taking video or an actual video camera. Do you have a set price range?

Basically, I'd love to help but details?

Um, okay.

Zoom would be nice. My old camera had a crappy frame, and if I wanted more than just my face in the frame, I had to sit so far away the microphone barely picked me up. So...

I'd like a video camera with decent picture quality, capable of zoom, and a good microphone which I think would be a seperate purchase. Let's say starting at about $300? I honestly know absolument nothing about this, so I don't even know where to start.
