This may indeed be the first time I mentioned him by name. But yes, I did call him Basil for exactly the reason you're thinking. Although in my head he looks rather more like Jeremy Brett than Basil Rathbone, and he really looks nothing like Basil of Baker Street. No tail, for one. ^.^

Usually I don't leave comments on sites that I don't have accounts for, but holy hell, this is lovely. I couldn't NOT comment. "The Swan Princess" and Swan Lake are quite possibly my favourite stories of all time, and this... I have no words, because this is wonderful. I find myself really wishing that you had this up on AO3 (to my knowledge, it's not there) so I could download it onto my kindle to have forever. Really, thank you for writing this. I'm going to keep reading now. :)

Ah, thanks so much for telling me! I found your fic through fyjohnlockfanfiction on tumblr, and they posted the lj link. Usually, if a fic is also on AO3, they'll post both links. I'm round_robin on AO3. :)

The FYJLFF entry happened before I transferred the story to AO3, so they were using the only link they had available. The AO3 move is very recent.
