I have spent the past four days working feverishly on a 500 page manuscript. It’s excellent, don’t get me wrong, but it also came in late, and Editor D is going on vacation starting today at noon and not coming back for a week, so he wanted to get our editorial letter out today

Seriously. One thing he always does right is give credit where it's due. Which is a big deal. A lot of editors don't do that.

It really is! The best feeling ever. He's quoted me in edit letters before, but this is the first time he's used the bulk of my notes and used them straight up.

Awesome! This doesn't deserve the 'editor d sucks' tag. Maybe you should make an "editor d occassionally rocks" tag.

I was thinking about that, but it would be too annoying to change all the tags. Besides, usually he sucks!

You wouldn't have to change all the tags. Create a new one and use it going forward. How many times has he not sucked in the past? Just one I can think of. (Ninja Turtles!)
