It’s always a challenge to find things to do with a teenager just going through his first year at college. What could ye ole dad provide that more interesting than his new experiences with friends, classes and living away from home? So it was with some trepedation I reached out to Zach and asked if he’d be interested in taking a soldering class

You only mentioned the "soldering irons are hot" hazard. I hope that the instructor mentioned the "Snips can fling little bits of pointy metal and your eye doesn't like little bits of pointy metal" hazard as well. You and Zach (and I) wear glasses, so we don't have to worry so much about it, but it's still a hazard.

I need to find some projects to do with my kids over the break.
