I have oft pondered this question.  I have 395 friends, and that is down probably 100 from when I unfriended a bunch of people a few months ago.  I only friend people who I actually know and care to know about. I've often wondered how people manage to get such a high friend count but then I guess if you went to a large high school and have a big family it's easier! There were 120 people in my year at school and obviously I wasn't friends with all of them. My entire close family only numbers about 12 people and just two of them (my brother and cousin) are on FB! You're lucky having a big family though. I've now stopped worrying about my friend count and have defriended a few people who were friends of friends that I never see any more and wasn't remotely interested in their updates!

There were 180 in my graduating class, but not all of my from-high-school-friends were in my class. A lot of those I'm friends with were from band and a few classes I had where everyone was pretty close, too. And I guess a lot of my family is on Facebook, although I'm friends with a lot of extended family (2nd cousins, cousins-once-removed, etc.).
