Photo Capture Programs?

The looming prospect of CreMo over at sim_spiration (sign ups start in February) has me working on the next Penguino chapter.  If you follow my tumblr you saw a few photos of lots/sets that I built to use in the next chapter and a couple days ago I actually did some filming!  As I am building up the chapter though, I am becoming increasingly unhappy with the ( Read more... )

Another thing to remember with Gadwin is that it won't recognize your game as a separate entity if you have Windows 7; it will only capture your desktop, meaning you'll have to play your game in windowed mode (if you don't already). But if you pre-make a photo border, it will cover up your edges (if you have the game covering almost the full screen with only a slight edge).

But Gadwin is very nice because you can have it automatically resize your pictures (like set it to 400x650 if you have a square monitor; if you have a wide-screen one the dimensions will be different).

Thanks Ang! I definitely play in window mode just so I can hope around with different programs as I am playing. Sims has made me fairly photoshop savvy so I'll work on creating an action for cropping!

Thank you, Di! Which of the three versions of Gunmod's camera hack do you use by the way? I'm sure I can test out all three but I was curious about which your prefer. (I am definitely excited about the ability to scroll out beyond the borders in neighborhood mode cause that has been making me crazy the past few days as I built on lots on the edge).

And thanks for the no pause line hack as well. I usually shoot everything in TAB (cameraman mode) so I think those disappear in that mode automatically but I can see that being helpful!

I just started using Gadwin, and I run Windows 7. For whatever reason, my computer does not liked windowed mode, so I had to do a couple of things to make it work. First, I right-clicked on the icon for my game, clicked the "comparability" tab, and then checked the box labeled "disable desktop composition." Then in the Gadwin settings, and under the Source menu I selected "client window." I like the pictures it takes, but it can be a pain to remember use camera mode.

Thanks! I will keep all these steps in mind for when I upgrade the computer (hopefully sometime this year).

I always use camera mode when shooting so hopefully this won't be all that different from my usual process.
