Pretty accurate assessment. Why Obama took this challenge I'll never know but I'm glad he is at least willing. He is coming into the presidency at a point of critical mass.

Ugh, that's an argument I just know will be repeated a million times in the next few months/years that will annoy me every time. Like, the whole reason we(or the media) couldn't shut up about race this election is because it still matters and is still significant.

And, even if you do think that the election of a black man erases racism in this country, Obama's background is not the same as most black people in the U.S. Maybe you can say racism is dead once we've elected a black person who's the descendant of slaves.
