I am absolutely nuts for this show, but considering that the only way I can even *see* it is to order the DVDs from England when they come out, it makes it hard to keep up.

Valid. BBCA says Whitechapel is their highest-rated Dramaville show, but that's sort of like having the biggest Octoberfest in Orlando or being the most extroverted engineer. The lack of region one DVDs is probably the biggest problem.

You got fans. You got (or will) fic. Some fandoms need to percolate. (stalks coffee machine with woobie eyes and empty mug) :)

I am feeling chuffed by the Big Bang, but gosh darn it, there are still only 129 stories at AO3. This is so out of proportion to the high-octane angst and drama kicked out by this show!

it's not my cup of tea. I get enough torture and serial killers with my modern day shows. Must be up to you fans to spread the fandom, then.

But between the torture and the serial killers, there's a load of wonderful h/c, physical, mental and emotional! The main character struggles with OCD, the principle supporting character spent his childhood thinking he was abandoned by his dad. They spend the first season overcoming their differences to develop a friendship that gets stronger each season. The team overcomes being sold out by dirty cops, attacked by the mob, being pilloried in the press and run-ins with serial killers. Almost every member of the team has cried at some point. They're constantly saving each other from physical harm and solving each others' emotional issues. It's brilliant.
