Firstly, hello! I don't think I've said hi before, but I friended you a little while ago because ladyofthelog basically said, "Pendrecarc is cool and writes Sherlock and MWT fic and you'd like her." And then I find you've discovered the Vorkosiverse, which is another point in your favor. So I've been hanging about, lurking. :)

Secondly, I think it is the neatest thing that you've up and decided to take cello lessons. Go you! I always find it inspiring to hear about people deciding to go learn new things.

I'm terribly happy about the cello thing, for all I've had to swallow a certain amount of pride--it's humbling to start something when you have no clue how to go about it.

Re: cello lessons: *head explodes, implodes, whatever* You know when you learn something important about a person you know, and you weren't expecting it, but it makes complete sense and just sort of intensifies their character? Yeah, something like that.

The cello is one of my favorite instruments of all time! To listen to; I don't play it.

Gorgeous instrument. You can feel it all through your knees when you get the bowing just right--the whole thing reverberates beautifully, and I'm not even good at it yet. :)
