I'm all out of excuses for these! Also, I want to register a protest--it's awfully difficult to write fic in fandoms where none of the characters actually have names.

For the sake of certain of my friendlist, I should mention that this contains nothing specific enough to be spoilery for later books in the Vorkosiverse.
