Decent word count so far today. Things should be pretty quiet this evening, so maybe I can get another thousand or so in.

This looks more promising than it is. When I add up everything I have left to write, my estimated word count for the draft is actually closer to 140,000, which is far too long, even if this is inescapably not a YA

Sometimes I terrify myself with the material I think up to fill transitions or give my characters something to do while the gears of the plot grind on, because several thousand words later it has a way of accomplishing things I didn't even know I needed to accomplish.
