Am I a scientist now?

In September I went to the national Wildlife Society Conference. I went because of peer pressure (all the cool grad students were going) and I wanted to experience a real-life conference before having to deal with presenting at one. Plus it was in relatively close Monterey, housing and transportation were provided... all I had to do was cough up

From what I understand, the ability to think more clearly than your peers while having imbibed as much alcohol as they have is what it means to be an academic. Of course, I work at a bar. What do I know?

In all honesty, I did not imbibe much alcohol at all compared to my peers. This was just more than my usual standards. So I suppose the jury is still out as to whether I am of academic mettle.
