Hello 2008
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Last night was certainly an event. I went to Chibuku at BarFly with Natalie and her friend Nicola, and we met up with Leon and his friends. It was an 80s themed fancy dress so we were all dressed for the part. Because it was a last minute arrangement for me, I didn't have any 80s clothing prepared so I had to improvise with what I had. I wore a pair of Natalie's jeans, with my most 80s looking retro t-shirt tucked into them. I had the bottom of my jeans rolled up, and wore white sports socks with my black Converse. I also wore black nail varnish and eye liner for some reason, and had my hair gelled to a side parting to look a bit preppyish. It looked shite but at least I made an effort. Natalie and Nicola both looked awesome!
Me, Natalie and Nicola hit the alcohol before heading out, and we had some sparklers left over from Bonfire Night so we decided to use them up for New Years.
BarFly was chocker, but the music was awesome and he had such a good boogie. There were quite a lot of people dressed in fancy dress. Most people were in 80s fashion, but some people were dressed as 80s characters. It was open until 3:00, but there was an afterparty at The Picket. Me, Natalie, Nicola and Leon got a bus to the afterparty, but then decided that we couldn't be bothered going in so Nicola, Nat and myself headed back home. The way home lead us behind some warehouses, and on our way we managed to pick up a "GOODS IN" sign.
The sign is still in our house downstairs, greeting visitors into the hall. It's not a house of students without a stolen sign.
It was a fantastic night out, and a brilliant start to the new year!
