William! Yes! JA's very nice to the Navy (usually), isn't she? He's one of my favorites too. And, is it just my notes, or does the narrator completely forget to tell us what happens to him? I hope he became a captain eventually. :D

No I don't think we do know what becomes of William, but I agree with both of you: he's rather fantastic and I hope he had a lovely life. :D
