I find it wonderfully ironic that I mentioned Dean having the right to mope and that in the very next installment Dean says, "I don't get mopey."

The end is in sight. It's not as easy as this, though. Dean dosen't just let things go. So Chloe may have to bully him a few more times.

And she's got her own issues, too.

Bully-ing of the Chloe variety is my favorite.
Also, I really like the fact that Dean isn't going to let his own issues and hang ups stop him from being there for Chloe when she needs him. It's very real and very raw.

Thanks. Dean tends to put everyone ahead of himself. I tend to get those *oh Dean* moments when that happens.

Anyway, excellent chapter. I loved that Chloe forced the chick flick moment, because those were things she had to say and Dean had to hear.

Sorry. BKV = Brian K. Vaughan. He's one of the creative forces behind the comic Ex Machina. Though I suppose you could have just been referencing "deus ex machina."

Figures that there would be something out there already with that name. I was going to call it Demona Ex Machina. Then I saw a title for a story called Deus Ex. I liked the idea of shortening it. And voila: Ex Machina.

I love to write those two. One moment they can be having a serious conversation, the next, this sweet, touching moment, and then the next snarking, arguing and flirting, which is really the same thing. It's funny, because it's entirely in my head, and yet it's so vivid to me.
