Did I mention how much I like this story? Because I do. Very much. Sure, it's just one more reason I'll have to get around to reading Terry Prachett, but that's a small price to pay for this journey into the minds and hearts of Chloe and Dean.
The Lady mostly appears in the stories of Rincewind. In them, the Gods play chess with the lives of mortals. The lady has a few favorite pawns. Rincewind is one of them.
Well, I feel discouraged - chess playing immortals who carry on some sort of presumably allegorical relationship with mortals. Why would someone like me want to read something like that??
I wonder if this is the time in my life I finally renew my lapsed B&N membership....

Love how Chloe did not hesitate or have to think about the choice. So true to her compassionate and selfless nature.
