The whole James Bond/Dean thing comes from fanfic writers who try to 'improve' on a character by writing them OOC. I saw it a lot in Sailor Moon fandom (where the main character is a scatterbrained klutz).

Dean and James Bond have a couple of similar traits. So I could easily see a fanfic writer writing 'their version' of Dean, and ending up with something closer to James Bond.
