Written for Strangevisitor7, who wanted to know how Chloe and Dean explained Ben to Chance.
Chance looked from his mom to his Dad with saucered eyes.
"Wait a minute! You said I was an only child." He looked at Chloe accusingly. "You said you weren't going to have any more kids!"
"When did I say that?" Chloe said.
"When I was six!" Chance said. "I wanted a little brother."
"Well," Chloe crossed her arms. "You got one. Thank your dad for that."
"Now? I don't want a brother now! I wanted one when I thought Kara had cooties."
"This isn't up for debate, Chance." Chloe put a tired hand to her forehead. "You've got an older brother."
Chance looked insulted. He turned with a disapproving frown to his dad -- who was staying out of striking distance of both mother and son. "You hadn't even met mom."
"Chance," Dean rubbed the back and favored him with a sheepish look. "I don't expect you to understand this -- since you've been pretty much attached to the same girl since you were in diapers,"
"Had to have gotten that from my side of the family," Chloe muttered.
"But before I met your mother I played the field a little bit."
"How many brothers and sisters do I have running around out there? And are they all human?" Chance yelped indignantly. "You're not like Errol Flynn, are you?"
"What?" Dean looked at him in confusion.
"Never mind!" Chance threw his hands up in disgust. "I don't want to know. You're my dad. This conversation is not supposed to be happening. I'm supposed to think that not even you and Mom have sex."
"Hey!" Dean and Chloe choroused in outraged tones.
"Not listening," Chance threw his hands over his ears as he stood and walked out. "La, La, La! Not listening!"
Dean watched his son leave with a frustrated sigh. He looked over at Chloe.
She smiled wryly in response. "Well, that went well."
