PB: Ange from Umineko
Appearance: Lynne stands at five-foot five with a slight frame, red hair and blue eyes. Typically, she makes twin tails with her hair and ties them with ribbons, charms, or clips depending on her mood. If she's lazy, she leaves it down. Lynne takes great pride in her hair and if there's one thing she focuses on in the mornings, it's getting it to look right.
Lynne goes with the basic blouse, ribbon, stocking, skirt combo uniform but out of school wears more casual clothes like sweaters, t-shirts, jeans or capris (depends on the weather), and in lieu of the black flats for school she opts for red, ankle high boots.
Personality: Generally nice, calm and amiable but a bit introverted. She's very straight-forward and rationale inside, sometimes to a fault. She'll think things through very carefully before making a risk or decision and sometimes uses that as a shield if she doesn't want to think a certain way or about a certain thing. Though rationale, Lynne loves things like fantasy and cute things and regularly writes and above all, she's a bit of a saaaap, especially when it comes to ideas of right and wrong and trying to find the positive when there's less to be positive about.
She has an aversion to physical contact, particularly with men, which has once or twice drawn rumours of her hating men or that she's a lesbian. It's neither but Lynne's just uncomfortable with being touched in general and around guys, it has an extra spike of discomfort due to her mom's ex.
History: Lynne is the only daughter of the Sawyers, a moderately rich family with their own publishing company. Her father was killed in a car crash while Lynne was too young to remember him, leaving her mom to pick up the slack of raising a daughter and running a company. Carol Sawyer didn't neglect her daughter per se, not willingly at least, but they had a bit more of a distant relationship due to Carol's work and Lynne's natural shyness. Lynne had a good life though: she was provided for, school was school, and she had a normal life in general.
When she was thirteen, Rick Campbell came into her and Carol's life. Rick was an executive for a sister company and dating Carol. Rick paid special attention to Lynne under the excuse of "I want to be apart of your mother's life and that means being close to you too". He seemed all right at first. Too touchy for Lynne's tastes (constantly ruffling her hair, being huggy, offering to take her hand to lead her out of the car or to escort her in being "a gentleman") but Lynne wrote that off as her not being a touchy person and Rick being one of those touchy people. Besides, her mom seemed to relax more with Rick around and it allowed Carol and Lynne to get closer.
However, as she grew older she started noticing him looking at her more often. He hung around more often, complimented her more often. It was only when the small, 'accidental' touches that Lynne started getting worried. She tried telling herself she was being paranoid, that it wasn’t like a nice guy like he meant to do it, and she tried not being "over sensitive" like Rick once accused her, but she couldn't help it. The day Rick very deliberately kissed her, for a second, Lynne decided he had to go. How, she hadn't decided, but she knew she couldn't tell her mom. When she saw Rick with a stranger in a seemingly intimate pose (though the circumstances were innocent) she took a picture with her phone and gave it to Carol along with a lie. Carol predictably freaked, booted Rick out of their life without listening to his explanation (after all, why would she when this was coming from her daughter?) and Lynne got a reprieve.
Things went back to normal for the most part but Carol was more despondent, more distant than she had been before Rick. It started being more uncomfortable being at home. Then, while deciding what high school to go to, she got a call on her cell from Rick. Rick blasted her over the phone, blaming her paranoia and "over-sensitivity" for Carol and his's break up and for repaying the two years he knew them like that. Lynne changed phones but the doubt was still there. Had she overreacted? She didn't want to think about it. Discomfort kept growing along with guilt when she saw her mom once cry over a picture of Rick and when she saw an application for Adessi Hall and her mom's glowing recommendation for the school, she decided to give it a go and get out for awhile.
