Destro is frikkin' awesome. Granted he's still not my favorite G.I. Joe character. That goes to Cobra Commander (surprise, surprise). Though I've had moments in my life where I could REALLY use that trap door

1) Wow. So, Destro "Dumped" Zarana into a garbage chute with literally no warning simply because he was asked to. Either there's a long story about why Destro and Baroness weren't an item for a while allowing him to hook up with Little Miss Swamp-Trash. (The image of ultra-refined Destro knocking boots with a stereotypical punker-bitch like Zarana is so amusing that I can only imagine he did it specifically to piss the Baroness off), or Baroness really needs to think long and hard about taking him back after that show of crass callousness.
2) Eee, errr, um... I dunno if I watched the show much after the movie, but is that suit Cobra Commander is wearing, and the comment by Destro that CC is "Looking Human" supposed to mean that they continued to hold the movie fully canon, including the part where CC was turned into a giant snake?
3) I vaugely remember that AI. Though, didn't he wind up later as a Captain Planet villian? ;)
Yup, movie was canon. I didn't actually watch G.I. Joe after the movie. This was because the movie tramatized my little kid self. The combination of all the crazy weird mushroom crap, the Cobra-La stuff, Duke being violently stabbed, Cobra Commander being turned into a snake (I was onsssse a mannn), and Roadblock getting blinded was a bit too much for my childlike mind. It made me not want to watch it ever again (the fact that Optimus Prime and Starscream got killed in the Transformer movie a few years before probably didn't help my young developing mind much either). Well, I regret that now, because all the clips I've seen of the later series seems to be 100% gold

Yeah, I got most of that from the related clips shown at the end of the clip and cruising Wikipedia.
I have to admit, I was intrigued by the clips I saw, and kind interested to see more, especially since according to Wiki, CC was a bit more competent the second time around (Marginally, apparently his much-vaunted Python Patrol was too scared to take on Serpentor's forces...)
Zarana is the sister of Zartan, who you may remember is a master of disguise and the leader of the Dreadnoks. She was apparently the Chicago branch of the gang.
