The West Wing Revisited

Over the past few months I've been working my way through a full rewatch of The West Wing, concluding in a 2 1/2-day mainline of season 7 when I was home sick this week. The West Wing was exemplary TV, it's that simple. And why do we care about Josh and Donna or Josh/Donna? (Especially me because I did not want Josh/Donna, no way.)

But I cared anyway. Because . . . they're family.

Drunk Leo and CIA Kate hung out with Castro in the 90s? And I missed it?!

Mostly, though, this post makes me want to rewatch this show for real, especially to see the parts that were background to college or dropped completely in the years immediately afterwards. One of these days.

Wow, I can't imagine the you I've gotten to know here having a "scary raging evangelical phase"!

I adore TWW, but I've not finished it yet.

Oh, dear, yes. It was unfortunate. But it was also high school, and high schoolers are so susceptible to being influenced into extremist ideals, I think. It's the age when you want to believe in something really passionately, and I had these church youth leaders I thought were just SO cool, and that's where most of my friends were, and yeah. Fortunately I grew out of it pretty quickly. What alarms me more is that lots of my friends from that age are basically still in that place, and I don't understand that at all.

And yay, TWW!
