I love Orphan Black too. I am really looking forward to the new season but it hasn't made me want to seek out a community and discuss it. I don't think you can make yourself fall in love with something. It just happens when you least expect it. Some shows are just great to watch and then they are done.

Have you checked out CONTINUUM?

When Stargate ended (in 2009) I never thought I would fall for a show/franchise like that again. It wasn't until 3 years later and out of the blue I fell HARD for WHITE COLLAR. It is not even a Genre show which makes it all the more unexpected. There is quite the online community for it.

So your days of having ALL THE FEELINGS are not done. You just have to be open for it to come from unexpected places. : )

I'll second the rec for White Collar (which scarym1 got me hooked on. Addicted since Ep 3. Also, have you tried Supernatural? Hard to see how you could've missed all the online hysteria about it, so maybe you already gave it a try. You really have to give it to the 2nd season to see the awesomeness of the plot and character complexities.

As I said to scarym1, I don't generally go for the male-buddies dynamic in my shows and haven't watched White Collar for that reason, plus the general impression that it doesn't have enough women in lead roles for my taste. That's one of those TV/etc. buttons of mine that just seems to get more pronounced over time: I need women with agency, preferably in the lead roles, preferably multiple leading women.

And, well, same thing with Supernatural. I did watch it a bit when it first came on the air and enjoyed some episodes and wanted to see what all the fuss was about, but just couldn't get on board with the show's gender dynamics at all. I don't know if it's any better with that these day--having women who are fully-realized characters with agency in their own right rather than just motivating the boys--but I can't really see myself tuning back in to find out at this point.

I'll agree that Supernatural is not the place to look for women in lead roles, so yeah, maybe it's not for you. But, while the heart of White Collar is Peter/Neal, Elizabeth (Peter's wife) is a tremendously important character. I like the way she is strong and independent without having to be the tough, gun-wielding, punching-guys-out character. It's refreshing since that seems to be the only way pop culture knows how to show women being strong. For the tough-cop character we have Diana (although she's not in a lot of the first season - I think the actor was committed to something else between the pilot and the pick-up). I think you would like Diana's arc a lot.
