Love you comments. Pretty much agree with you on all points. One question though, I must have blinked and missed the V/Thorn Birds reference. I already erased it from the DVR, so can you tell me what it was?
It was right at the beginning, with the boxing: Hobbes walked in and said, "there's quite the Thorn Birds vibe in here" or something to that effect. I don't remember the exact line, but I definitely laughed. I'd say this ep fairly effectively turned subtext into text on the Jack/Erica front.
I've got to see if ABC.com posts the entire episode so I can catch it. I like V (like not love), though it is a bit obvious after BSG and others. I haven't decided who I ship (if anyone) but I am leaning towards Jack/Erica.
I haven't decided how I feel about Scott Wolf's portrayal of the reporter. I know they are trying to not let us know what side (if any) he is really on. I think he's going for the "I am on no one's side but my own", but I don't think he can quite pull it off as an actor. Never been too impressed with him, back from his Party of Five days.
squee when this week's V included a Thorn Birds reference
Ahaha, I missed what he said. I assumed Jack suddenly became very interested in his shoes because of the sekrit awkward, not being actually called out on it. Hee.
But the show is still fundamentally hampered by a too-easy morality. Having the people on the shuttle already be dead was SUCH a cop-out! I totally agree, they were doing really well with potential fallout and then..not so much. Though this was the best ep in awhile.
And Farscape!!! I adore your choice so much, and yes, yes to its perpetual lack of a rest button. *draws hearts*
Yeah, I sort of did a double-take, and then busted into giggles. Then I checked the Jack/Erica comm afterwards to make sure he'd really said what I thought he did. Oh yes. Hee!
And yes, it was frustrating that this was the best ep in a while and yet still backed off considerably from its potential, I thought. Ah well.
