Happy Canada Day! It's a gorgeous one here in my little corner of the country, and I've just returned from sitting in a park in the sun for a while, catching up with good friends ( Read more... )

There really is no excuse for eggnog.

*dies laughing* Okay, I just went and found our somewhat extended discussion about eggnog from last Christmas season. It is so not fair to give your own tastes and preferences to Rygel! :)

As for the second set, I'm not sure whether I like the third or fourth one more; there's something quite touching about Admiral Thrace being quietly happy that Adama hadn't had to see his old girl fall. Then again, I have a huge soft spot for Kara and Bill. Now there's another story . . .

And the kisses! Awwww.

"It isn't your fault, either," he whispers.

Oh Bill. Oh Laura. Oh show.

Eggnog is simply foul. That's all I have to say about that!

And awwwww, sappy kisses. And angsty kisses and cute kisses, and why don't we just start with the intravenous sugar! But thank you. ;) And that last scene between Laura and Kara has been in my head for days now and I can't find the bigger thing it might become part of, so I stuck it in here. But it just might show up in something else one of these days.

I can't think of many things foul enough for Rygel to refuse them! But if that's how you feel . . . perhaps one day I will change your mind. Think of creamy bourbon? Or is that the worst possible example . . . ::grin::

As for Kara, I don't know. Having not been part of the billion-comment threads after "Revelations," I have yet to make up my mind about Kara's role as the harbinger of death and/or apocalypse. So I'd love to see what you come up with!

It's an egg thing. Eggs must be cooked thoroughly. Not drunk. Ever. And eggs plus liquor just makes me want to vomit. I think even Rygel would agree with me here; he knows where to draw the line. ;)

And I'm not thinking necessarily of anything big and thematic about whether Kara is or isn't the harbinger of death or the apocalypse (however we're reading that word). But Kara remembers that prophecy, and I suspect she's going through more than a little self-blame in all this, as is Laura, and probably the Dylan Four (or at least Anders and Tigh; Tyrol seems resigned to the irony of it all, and Tory seems to have given up on guilt as a concept). But I'm most interested in Laura and Kara and how they're going to see their relationships to prophecy at this point--not whether the prophecy is true or false, but just what that's going to mean psychologically for each of them. And I'm very curious whether they'd ever actually talk about it.

Man, I love that video. And the picspam made me giggle like such a little fangirl.

I'VE MISSED SEEING FARSCAPE STUFF ON MY LIST!! Aeryn strikes me as a beer sort of girl, more than a mixed drinks type. How fitting that Chiana loves the liquor, that crazy girl ;)

And you should never apologize for writing BSG! Especially if it is Adama/Roslin or Six/Tigh. And especially if it is as adorable as those kissing prompts. Hee!!

That picspam cracks me the hell up every time I read it--which I keep doing for that very reason!

YAY FARSCAPE!!!!!!!!! My show!!! And yes, I think Aeryn is generally more of a beer girl, though I'm not sure she was much in the mood to be doing any serious drinking during "Terra Firma." She was a bit too on edge, a bit too concerned about keeping all her exits in view, just in case she needed them.

I'm not sure it was quite an apology for writing the BSG--more surprise that I really don't write stuff like that very often. ("Adorable" does not appear frequently in my feedback folder!) But it was tremendously fun, and I'm sure I'll write more of the BSG prompts in the days to come. But hopefully also some of the ones from other fandoms.

I find that wallowing in the shippiness can be good for the soul. But bad for the teeth if you wallow too long - too sweet. *g*

It is tremendously good fun every now and then, isn't it! Just so long as I don't make it a habit... ;)

Oh yay!!! I was worried you'd be annoyed that I grabbed your idea, but I just couldn't not! And it tried to go off in this tangential way as I invented this historian (descendant of Tory Foster and one of the Leobens, because they were kinda hot in that one scene, even if I was irritated that she swooned), who was trying to promote a reading of Laura Roslin as the unknown final cylon, and the organizing committee couldn't decide whether or not to ask her to do the keynote because on one hand she was the foremost Roslin scholar in the world, but on the other hand she always did have a touch too much of the Leoben tendency to see visions and dream dreams. And that was when I realized that I was on crack and deleted that whole bit!!!

And hee!!! It rather makes me smile that you liked the kisses. Awwwww! Just be sure to brush your teeth well: too much sugar causes cavities!

I have no real inclination to ship Tory/Leoben, but they were kinda hot in that 10 seconds (Leoben is hot when he just stands there, or when he and Kara have sex in white paint; it's when he opens his mouth that I remember how much he freaks me the hell out). But when I was trying to think of someone who would both be a tremendously well-respected historian yet also be willing to entertain wild theories that the rest of the discipline found disturbing, it somehow made sense that she might be the great-great-great-etc.-granddaughter of Tory and Leoben!

Though no offense to your robot girl, but if Tory and Leoben were to get together, they might collectively scare me so much that I couldn't watch scenes they were in. I'm not kidding about Leoben really freaking me out, and lately I've been a little scared of Tory, too!
