Now you've got me curious about which scene it is that you're reworking! I have a few educated guesses, of course, but . . . well, let's just say I'm looking forward to this story, whenever it comes this way. :-)
post-Crossroads 2: the inevitable "I don't forgive you" "I don't expect you to" "But maybe we should get over that because look at all this madness we have to deal with" conversation. Though it's started out being more about Lee... We'll see how it goes, anyway! I have images in my head, but there are missing transitions and a lot of missing dialogue. If you wouldn't be opposed to the idea, could I perhaps come bug you for a beta at whatever point it actually gets written?
I think I need to get over this impulse I have to distance myself from Adama/Roslin. Because I do like them muchly, and I think they'll be fun to play with in fic now that I finally feel myself so inclined. Yet there's also some indefinable weirdness about the whole thing, which I suspect has more to do with fandom than with the pairing itself. But then again, I was resistant to BSG itself for a long time, knowing nothing at all about the fandom. So maybe I'm just odd where this show is concerned.
I'd be happy to beta for you, whenever that rolls around. :-)
And yeah, I understand what you're saying about A/R. Fandom has just about put me off BSG altogether for the time being, and the drama over on the A/R boards is just adding fuel to the fire. It's frustrating to have fandom go and implode on itself, because it really starts to impede one's enjoyment of the show.
I've been in Stargate fandom for years, and it has a tendency to spontaneously combust every few months over some kerfuffle or other. But in Stargate I've always had sort of an immediate circle of friends--the Daniel/Janet gang, and more recently other people as well--who stand in solidarity on the outskirts of the wank. Whereas the only BSG fan group I've really gravitated towards is A/R, and it seems to be right in the thick of all the drama--and I find that all rather frustrating. So I lurk. I'm usually not in the least a lurker, so it's all very strange.
But fortunately it hasn't been detracting from my enjoyment of watching the show itself--not that there's show to watch for the next however many months. It just limits the extent to which I want to participate in fandom.
Teal'c/Chiana...now that would make for an interesting pairing! I'm willing to bet that Teal'c would remind Chiana of D'Argo in a lot of ways...
But anyway...
If there are any Farscape *must read* fics out there that you've come across, please let me know. I kept meaning to ask you about that, and hey! perfect opportunity here. Hehe...
I'm heading to bed, so I'll probably follow this up with nuance tomorrow, but I'd start my FS recs by pointing you to my del.icio.us Farscape tag. There is some stunning Farscape fic. This fandom seriously revolutionized my entire way of looking at fic and what it can do. Of course, this show seriously revolutionized my entire way of looking at television, too, so perhaps it's not so surprising.

Disclaimer: I've only been playing with del.icio.us for a few weeks, and there's lots of great FS fic that I haven't tagged yet, but instead of going to look for all that right now, I'll just explain why I have tagged what I have and why, therefore, you should read it. :)
First, the Big Damn Epics. I don't always prefer really long fics, but all of these had me absolutely riveted. My favorite long fic is Thea's Blue Eyes. It goes AU from "Look at the Princess," with John staying married to Katralla. And after you've read that, go read everything else Thea's written (most of it's there on Leviathan, or on her LJ--thassalia).
Also stunning in the Big Damn Epic category is Feldman's Little Acorns. It starts from "Bad Timing" and gives an ending that is every bit as satisfying as PK Wars, I think--and was practically considered canon, I believe, until PK Wars aired.
And finally, the biggest of the Big Damn Epics, In the Company of Ghosts by KodiakkeMax. This is actually a trilogy, AU-ing the entire series (through season 3, which was airing

Hi there!:) Just wanted to say that I look forward to reading your fics, as I have just 'met' you:) And thank you for inadvertantly reintroducing me to the phrase 'fic bunnies,' I had almost forgotten with time in school:) Yay. Have a lovely week:) ~Anna~
The BSG fic is being betaed as we speak and will likely be posted by the end of the week or so, and the wheels of my brain have been churning actively on the Teal'c fic, so hopefully whenever I have time to actually sit down and write that one, something productive will ensue. We'll see!
And in case you're interested in the already-written stuff, links to my various fic tags are along the sidebar of my journal: mostly SG-1, some Farscape, and some older SGA. BSG is under "misc. fic" but I suppose it should probably get its own tag soon. :)
