As liminalliz just pointed out, not only is it Friday the 13th, but it's 10/13. And I said there should be X-Files fic. And then I wrote X-Files fic (er, well, a drabble thingie). For the first time in a veeeery long time. The clichés may burn unless you pretend they're there on purpose. Which, of course, they are. *coughs*

I must say, I was kind of hoping she'd stalk off in annoyance at the end, but this is so cuuuuuute!!

Mulder: "So... cake?"
Scully: "I'm not doing a THING until I shower."
Mulder: *flirty eyebrow*
Scully: *in-your-dreams eyebrow*
Mulder: "Well, I'll bring you some, then. There was that 24-hour dessert place..."
Scully: "Are you seriously going to go to a cafe dressed like-? Never mind. Bring me chocolate."

I know! I TOTALLY just ruined your perfect story, so you should feel free to delete this comment in a fit of rage, but that scene of them all muddy in the car popped into my head and I wanted to shaaaaare.

OMG not ruined AT ALL!!!!! I love it!!!! You are always on the "allowed to write sequels" list!!! ;)

And yeah, she should have stalked off annoyed, and I wanted her to, but then the impulse for schmoopiness kicked in, and if I can't be schmoopy in the first XF thing I've written in YEARS, then dammit, when can I be?

But now they will be cute and muddy and eat cake, yay!

Well, there's no reason she can't stalk off even though she's enjoying herself. I mean, there's no way in hell she's going to let *him* know that she forgives him for dragging her in the middle of nowhere instead of having cake and a glass of wine like NORMAL HUMANS on their birthdays. You know.

Very true. Oh, Scully!!! I still can't watch seasons 1 and 2 without wanting to yell, "no, no, run away, baby Scully!!! It's not worth it!!!"

There may very well have to be some X-Files watching tonight if I can remember which box those DVDs are in... ;)

Yes, I shall always choose to remember just the good about XF. Or, at least the stuff I thought was good. ; )

Possibly you have more ambivalence about XF than I do--because they're mostly all good memories for me. Baby's First Fandom and all that!
