Thoughts:

Best part of season three is John Simms, most definitely.

I love the use of music in relation to the Master. "Voodoo Child" and "I Can't Decide" used diagetically were probably the highlights of the finale. Otherwise, I was not a fan of those last three episodes ( Read more... )

I'm just finishing up with series 1 of Torchwood :)
When I think of some of the not-so-great episodes of Doctor Who, I think I like Torchwood better, but I just finished the Moffat 2-parter in series 4, and omg it's the best episode this season. :)

Back to Torchwood, I'm confused about why all the women find Owen so attractive... idk
It's also kind of unusual for a show to put such emphasis on death and the "nothingness" that follows. What, is it every other episode that they need to tell someone that there isn't anything after death? Not that I disagree entirely, but it seems a little preachy to me.

Anyway, happy finals!

Really? I was not so fond of the two Library episodes. It was kind of a scenario where I was like, "WTF Steven Moffat?" for about 90% of the time, and then the ending just seemed a little too happy and neat. But, as an obsessive Rose/Doctor fan, I think my dislike of the episode is biased by my distaste for River Song. I really hope she doesn't become a companion in the future, because if I wanted to hit Martha for always swooning over the Doctor, I would probably end up screaming at my computer screen because I find River so bloody annoying.

Torchwood can definitely be quite preachy, as it's a much more serious show than Doctor Who. I really liked Owen in the beginning, but he's seemed less and less likable as the series goes on. By the time you reach the last episode of season one, you'll probably feel RTD is hitting you over the head with his Jack = Jesus thing. But don't worry, the first episode of season two will hopefully make you like Jack again.

Oh, also, I think most people plan to be in the PUB at lunchtime every day this week, so make sure to pop in sometime. I'll be in the PUB from 11 til about one tomorrow.
