I don't think you can cure stupidity.
There is no coincidence. The animal needed help and it was lucky that you, a kind person who cares, walked by. Not everyone would have tried to help.

I almost got in a fight with a guy once about the same stuff. If I see a kid or an animal being hurt, look out!

Thanks Pel. Not only do you know tons of good stuff about art, you are kind to animals. sigh. I may only see the nipple, but I am in your corner!

You're right. There is no cure for stupidity, but rudeness and cruelty are another matter altogether. The person in question was not so much stupid, as selfish. Greed is a dangerous, dangerous thing.

You can see my nipple?

Now I'm causing trouble! Nah, remember when I asked you what your icon was, a couple of months ago...all I thought I could make out was a nipple. You know, the Klimt painting. Now I've embarrassed myself twice in front of you.

More power to you.

I'm a little insane when it comes to animals... I once took a kitten off a bike gang in Ohio who were tossing it around. The only thing that saved my arse was that they assumed I must be certifiable!

I was visiting a friend one day, many years ago, who had severely white trash neighbors. You know the type: 10 kids, car parts in the yard, and 500 animals they really shouldn't have because they can't take care of the kids let alone something else. Well, they had a little black kitten and the kid's were torturing it. The mother got sick of it, so she tied it in a bag and threw it out in the water (I live on the ocean). I swam out and got it, thankfully unharmed. The kitten, now a cat, lives with a dear friend of mine, and is one of the bitchiest cats you will ever meet.

People are so revolting.

No kidding. I just wish I had actually seen them so I could read them the riot act.

Good for you! I hope that person learns a lesson and takes better care of their animals. Poor little puppy.

I hope they got a fine or something. Nothing says "Don't do it again" like a big, fat bill.

My mother saw that happen last summer. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to have children, I guess.
