Time to post some stories! After our month-long trip in Taiwan (in which we went to Japan for a week) there's stuff to tell that can't really be explained by photos. And of course, I'll post photos as soon as they're edited down.

Wait, the guy working at the store asked you if you wanted to exchange for money? I thought you couldn't exchange your winnings for cash unless you went outside into a tent in an alleyway...

That's why they were led outside to make the exchange. Japanese law (to my knowledge) forbids gambling for money, but outside of a gambling establishment there's no reason that someone can't buy some rectangular pieces of plastic or cardboard for a few thousand yen.

Sounds like you guys had a lot more success with pachinko than we did when we tried. We just watched the balls fall and failed miserably.

sounds sooo cool... how can you get sick of playing when you're winning? and having all these crazy animations in front of ya? (unless you play it like 24/7) Are there any of these machines in Sydney? :P (like asking for a mah jong parlor in Syndey :p) sounds soo fuun~
