100 Things 6: English country dancing

It's been a long time since I made a hundred things entry, but I'm trying to resume having a life. For those of you who remember, my goal was to try 100 new things. Oh! Hole-in-the-Wall! Or almost; I don't think HitW had the part where two couples dance side by side briefly, but all the rest of it? Definitely. I never knew it had another name.

It used to be one of my favorite SCA dances, and we allowed "poaching" to liven things up. When couple one exchanged places with couple two, an outside person could try to cut in if he or she could.

I do hope you enjoy the dancing! I always found the great fun.

OK, now I recall a couple of other differences, so not the same, but definitely related.

I LOVE contra dancing, even if I don't go out to do it very much. I didn't know there were places that did English Country dancing - that sounds perfect for an Austen fan like you! :D Glad you enjoyed it.
